An early picture of the post office and toll house

These pictures show the old post office. This building was sited on the old Lowestoft Road roughly where today the garage is and the adjoining new houses.

This area was also the site of the old toll booth in the days when the main road charged a toll to pass

This picture shows the main road heading north towards Great Yarmouth .   The post office and next to it the garage with its roadside petrol pump ..This was the main road between Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth , but you can see had very little traffic.

These picturesque collection of building were demolished to make way for todays garage and house  

                      The toll house and old post office being taken down
