( 1930 )

This picture shows Station Rd as a leafy country lane , with hedge rows and mature trees running either side , no pavements

( 1930 s )

Another view looking west , the terrace houses and cottages can still be seen today. The roadside building advertising ices and teas has long gone

(1960 s )

This is the Station Rd/ Coast Rd corner, with  Randalls general store and newsagents

(1940)

Station Road looking towards the east down Warren Road, you can just see a post box set into the wall where the shop now stands

(1970)

Another view...the Turnstone Pub is on the right...In the distance is the railway bridge which spanned Station Road

(1970)

This picture shows Station Road..It was probably taken from the railway bridge which ran across the road till the 60/70s

A more recent view , but the railway bridge can still be seen
