 ( 1907 )

This is the lodge...This lovely little building can still be seen.. whereas once it was on the edge of the village , it is now seperated by the busy A12 road

( 1950 )

This is beach road, little more than a lane it went down to the holiday camps and the beach...at the end of the lane was a pond and woods.

The following three pictures show the Hopton/Gorleston links bungalows

This picture , given to me by B Howard shows the old thatched barn ... This wonderful historic building was allowed to become ruinous and was demolished after it was gutted by fire in late 80/90s.. Houses now occupy the site

(1960)

Hall road heading past the new post office ... going towards the Lodge

(1960)

This view shows what is now Warren Rd (was Warren Lane ) heading towards Speedwell camp , on the right can be seen the thatched roof of the barn.... Next to the road is the village pond

(1932)

This picture is described as 'A leafy lane '...

(1938)

The same view as before but taken a few years later

(1949)

This shows the current post office , I should think shortly after it was built in 1947 ... Note the open countryside around it..

I have included the following  pictures of the beach as they show part of the woodland which was at the edge of the cliffs. This was cleared and a pond was filled in to make way for housing at the end of Beach Road

This photograph shows the old school and the houses next door... todays view has changed little

This shows the school gates leading into the play ground before a house was built next to the school

(1945)

This view shows the village pond and Manor farm and the thatched barn.
